2026 Ducati Hypermotard 698 Mono Nera | Now Available for Preorder at MotoCorsa
The blacked-out Hypermotard. Termignoni silencers, Ducati Quick Shift, red wheels, red frame. The most aggressive version yet of Ducati's first road-going single-cylinder supermotard.
Ducati has added a third version to the Hypermotard 698 Mono family, and it's the one a lot of riders have been waiting for. The new Hypermotard 698 Mono Nera ("Nera" = black) takes the 77.5 hp Superquadro Mono platform and dresses it in a darker, more aggressive package: all-black bodywork, Ducati Red wheels and frame, homologated Termignoni silencers, and Ducati Quick Shift up/down — all standard from the factory.
MotoCorsa is now accepting preorders. This bike will not be on showroom floors for a while. Reserve yours by calling MotoCorsa Ducati directly.
What Makes the Hypermotard 698 Mono Nera Different
The Nera is the third livery in the Hypermotard 698 Mono lineup, sitting alongside the Standard (Ducati Red) and the RVE (Graffiti). Unlike a simple color swap, the Nera adds equipment that's optional or unavailable on the other versions:
All-black bodywork with black-and-red detailing
Ducati Red wheels and Ducati Red trellis frame
Homologated Termignoni silencers with black steel sleeves — standard
Ducati Quick Shift (DQS) up/down — standard
Full LED lighting with DRL
Tapered aluminum handlebars
Lithium-ion battery
3.8-inch LCD display with IBN (Improved Black Nematic) technology
This is the version built for the rider who wants the most focused, most aggressive interpretation of the 698 Mono out of the crate.
Superquadro Mono Engine: 77.5 HP From a Single Cylinder
The heart of the Nera is Ducati's Superquadro Mono — the most powerful and highest-revving production single-cylinder road engine ever built. The architecture is derived directly from the 1299 Panigale's Superquadro twin, with the 116 mm bore, combustion chamber design, titanium intake valves, steel exhaust valves, and Desmodromic valve timing all carried over.
Hypermotard 698 Mono Nera engine specs:
Displacement: 659 cc
Bore x stroke: 116 x 62.4 mm
Power: 77.5 hp @ 9,750 rpm
Torque: 46.5 lb-ft @ 8,000 rpm
Rev limit: 10,250 rpm
Compression ratio: 13.1:1
Cooling: Liquid-cooled
Valve train: Desmodromic, 4 valves per cylinder
Fueling: Electronic fuel injection, 62 mm throttle body, full Ride-by-Wire
Balance: Twin balance countershafts
A 10,250 rpm production single is not normal. The Superquadro Mono revs like a small twin, sounds like nothing else in its class, and pairs especially well with the standard Termignoni silencers on the Nera.
Chassis, Suspension & Brakes
The 698 Mono Nera is built around the same lightweight chassis as the rest of the family — a tubular steel trellis frame (now finished in Ducati Red on the Nera), with fully adjustable suspension at both ends.
Chassis & suspension:
Wet weight (no fuel): 333 lb
Front suspension: 45 mm Marzocchi fully adjustable fork, 215 mm travel
Rear suspension: Sachs fully adjustable monoshock with progressive linkage, 240 mm travel
Swingarm: Double-sided aluminum
Wheelbase: 1,443 mm
Rake / trail: 26.1° / 108 mm
Wheels: Y-shaped five-spoke light alloy in Ducati Red — 3.5 x 17 in front, 5.0 x 17 in rear
Tires: Pirelli Diablo Rosso IV — 120/70 ZR17 front, 160/60 ZR17 rear
Brembo braking package:
Front: 330 mm aluminum-flange disc, Brembo M4.32 caliper, radial master cylinder with adjustable lever
Rear: 245 mm disc with single-piston floating caliper
ABS: Bosch Cornering ABS standard at both ends
Electronics: Panigale-Derived Rider Aids
The Hypermotard 698 Mono runs one of the most complete electronics packages in the supermotard segment — much of it adapted from the Panigale V4. The Nera carries every bit of it forward, with Ducati Quick Shift up/down now standard equipment (where it's optional on the base Standard version).
Riding Modes: Sport, Road, Urban, Wet
Power Modes (3 levels)
Bosch Cornering ABS with Slide-by-Brake function
Ducati Traction Control (DTC)
Ducati Wheelie Control (DWC) — allows controlled front-wheel lift in lower settings
Engine Brake Control (EBC)
Ducati Power Launch (DPL)
Ducati Quick Shift (DQS) up/down — standard on Nera
Ducati Brake Light (DBL)
A track-only racing Termignoni exhaust is available as a separate Ducati Performance accessory, which adds a claimed 7 hp and unlocks Wheelie Assist. This is not the same as the homologated Termignoni silencers fitted to the Nera as standard.
Seat Height & Ergonomics
The 698 Mono is a true supermotard — tall, narrow, and built to be ridden actively.
Standard seat height: 35.6 in (904 mm)
With low seat accessory: 35.0 in (889 mm)
With low seat + low suspension kit: 33.4 in (849 mm)
Fuel tank: 3.17 gal (12 L)
The bike comes ready for the Ducati Multimedia System, heated grips, and Ducati anti-theft system as optional accessories. Passenger footpegs are included.
